So... referred to another dentist yet again for Merlin.  Though he did sooooo well last time he just wouldn't have any of it this time.  So I have to hope the pediatric dentist that I grew up going to will take Merlin on and that he's opened up to Medi-cal.

Tree is cut, brought home, shaken off, in the stand, and waiting for the branches to dry so the lights can go on.  We went up Old McCloud Rd, over the tracks and far beyond up the side of the mountain to choose and cut one.

It felt good to be out doing that again, I hadn't realized how much I had missed finding the right tree and listening to the wood spirits.  Kids had fun, no slipping on ice, and no large wildlife encounters.  When we bought the permit earlier today, the kids DID get to see the various animals in the Ranger Station, and the permit for the Station to legally have them (all died of natural causes) so they had gotten an impromptu lesson on the legalities of what creatures are legal to possess and how, along with seeing animals of the area they normally wouldn't.

Next time I get tree, must remember... HAT!  It's very different going out in the woods without all my hair!
